Lending Expert, the Manchester-based price comparison site, has just been announced as one of the Fintech50, according to TechRound.
Lending Expert was founded in 2013 by David Beard. The price comparison site has grown exponentially in the last year, highlighting second charge mortgages and secured lending as areas of particular growth. Through their service, borrowers are able to gain access to professional advice from industry experts as well as free price comparison tables and calculators.
The website helps customers compare financial products including personal loans, savings accounts, and credit cards, to help determine the right product for them. Since its founding, the company has helped thousands of customers, especially over the past year.
They credit much of their growth to the uncertainty caused by COVID-19 with price comparison sites playing a more important role for UK-based borrowers than ever before. With a totally unprecedented national financial situation, now more than ever people are seeking the best prices on the market and the most reliable brokers. Given the unique circumstances, people have become more reliant on loans and financial support so finding the best option is of paramount importance.
The Fintech50 competition was launched by TechRound, a UK-based startup news site, to put a spotlight on the most innovative and rapidly-growing Fintech companies. The competition spanned fintech companies that cover multiple areas including pensions, savings, budgeting, finance, cryptocurrency, and credit cards. The competition was judged by a panel of experts from the fintech sector including judges from leading credit card providers and B2B services.
Lending Expert came 18th in the overall list, coming ahead of another price comparison site, Forces Compare, which featured 33rd. Other companies to make the list included A. I. budgeting apps such as Cleo, employee-wide pay advance services such as Hastee and TechforGood company, RoundUps.
TechRound co-founder Daniel Tannenbaum said: “We were extremely impressed with the calibre of entries, with some of the most outstanding Fintech companies across payments, budgeting, finance, and cryptocurrencies sharing their stories.”
Fellow co-founder David Soffer commented: “The UK continues to be the powerhouse for all things startups and Fintech. The TechRound Fintech50 highlights the brilliant concepts and how they have been executed by some very talented people. Above all, this list should act as an inspiration to future Fintech leaders and entrepreneurs and help us create a society where the benefits of Fintech are fully utilised.”
