TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?

We are 2 co-founders, Tristan and I. I am a B2B Product Manager for SaaS with 10 years in the banking Industry and a past of Entrepreneur in the Music Industry. Tristan is a successful entrepreneur, he already launched several ventures, including a Dating App with over 250 thousand users. We worked together for Lemlist and decided to start working together on a side project that would grow into buska.

IF YOU COULD GO BACK IN TIME A YEAR OR TWO, WHAT PIECE OF ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE YOURSELF?

Do not be afraid to jump off the cliff of the employee life and follow your deep will to start a company and help businesses grow.

WHAT PROBLEM DOES YOUR BUSINESS SOLVE?

Startups and small Entrepreneurs don’t have tools to track mentions of their brand online. They have to check every social media one by one, do google searches to see if their name pops up. It is time consuming and they risk missing important user feedback/comments, or potential bad buzz just because they didn’t see it online in time. Buska is the online mention monitoring tool tailored for them. We give them easy access to every new mention of their brand online, in real time.

WHAT IS THE INSPIRATION BEHIND YOUR BUSINESS?

Buska was inspired by our own experience. With his previous venture – dating app – Tristan spent hours looking online for mentions of his company, for articles talking about it, for users citing it on social media. As a Music Manager, i would launch online publicity campaigns for concerts I Produced and would spend hours engaging with the audience, and checking for mentions of my artists on social media. We built buska to solve our own frustration, and have everything easily, in one place. We want to help other small businesses and startups do the same and save hours and avoid the hassle.

WHAT IS YOUR MAGIC SAUCE?

We tailored our offer for Entrepreneurs and Startups. There are monitoring tools on the market, but they are made for Enterprises. They favor reports and analytics over ease of use and easy access to mentions. We are focused on what matters for entrepreneurs: know what people say about their brand, and the ability to engage quickly with their audience.

WHAT IS THE PLAN FOR THE NEXT 5 YEARS? WHAT DO YOU WANT TO ACHIEVE?

buska is built around 3 pillars : Monitor, Understand, Engage. Today we offer the monitoring with hig accuracy from many sources. We are moving towards the Understanding, with Sentiment Analysis, and soon more analytics for entrepreneurs to understand what people say about their brand. Then, we’ll add the Engagement, and allow direct interactions with the audience from buska. We want to offer a comprehensive Online Reputation Management solution for Startups, Content Creators and Entrepreneurs.

WHAT IS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE YOU’VE FACED SO FAR?

Our biggest challenge is to grow our audience in a “blue ocean market” with strong competitors. Our target audience is not as well informed as Enterprises about the importance of Online Reputation Monitoring. We have to educate them too. That’s why we create lots of content (blog articles, linkedin posts, videos …) to help them grow. And with limited resources we cannot engage in expensive Ads for our tool, so we have to scrappy and find other ways for Growth (SEO, Social Media engagement, Outreach)

HOW DO PEOPLE GET INVOLVED/BUY INTO YOUR VISION?

We want to bring Startups, Content Creators in to see the value for themselves. That’s why we are currently offering the Starter Plan ($5/month) to new users, so that they can try buska for free.
